Everyday Leadership
Leadership is often thought of as having an impressive title like CEO, General Manager or Founder or decades of experience. That’s certainly what I thought leadership was as a student and when I started working.
Leadership actually is more everyday rather than a fancy title.
Leadership can be everyday, small, courageous actions and anyone can take them. It doesn't matter what your title is or what you do for work, you can be a leader moment by moment in your life.
Leadership doesn't have to stay at work or on the football field. You could be a leader in your relationship, your marriage or your family. Being a leader when you don't have the title or the reason to is even more courageous.
Leadership is
Standing up for something important to you
Sharing your perspective without fear of judgement
Supporting a colleague and putting them forward for a role or position
Taking charge of caring for an elderly parent
Acknowledging mistakes with your children
Taking action on idea you have and making it happen
What is one action you can choose to take today that is an everyday act of leadership?
This 6 minute TED Talk really says it all when it comes to everyday leadership!
